The new cloak makes ship activating it stay in overview for about 6 seconds (that is, in other peoples overview). Just checked it with 2 characters, one jumping through a gate in a prowler, pressing warp-cloak and alt-tabbing to the other character.
There are also reports that it's possible to lock the ship while the cloak animation is going on. The person who managed to do it apparently caught aggro, though I can not confirm this.
Is this intentional? |

Celldoom wrote:Completely disagree. Many players, including veterans, don't understand the meta levels system. I've seen tech3 ships with meta0 fits. This change is much better.
Many people fly officer-fit T1 battleships with 1 month old character. Many people buy $500 gold MadCats. Many people put fingers in a wall socket to see what happens.
Some people just lose at evolution. It does not mean that chopping off your limbs and tying you to a life support unit so you would not hurt yourself should be mandatory. |

Celldoom wrote:The issue is that the game doesn't explain it at all, nor it is an intuitive system. You try to fit an arbalest and it fits. You try to fit X-whatever and it does not. You squeeze it in and see lower numbers. Can it be more intuitive?
Celldoom wrote: Simplicity doesn't mean it lacks depth.
It. Lacks. Depth. Why is it just so happens that all the merry factions of New Eden make absolutely similar co-processors? Why should not I have a choice to get a cheaper faction one if I don't need all that CPU. Why should I get a launcher that OMG has 6(?) more shots for the price of enough CPU to fit a covops cloak on a non-bonused ship?

Celldoom wrote: There was no choice in meta levels, now there is (hopefully).
Ironically, there was much more meaningful choice in the LMLs. Because malkuth was objectively worse than arbalest where it mattered but with better fitting which was crucial for some fits (like a 75km talwar). With several more shots for a quarter more CPU the "choice" is a no-brainer. |

Celldoom wrote: The issue with meta levels is that there was no choice - you simply get whatever item with the highest meta level. It's a puzzle, not a choice.
Before you had 4 named meta launchers. They were one shooty, one fitty and 2 crappy. Now you have 2 launchers. One fitty and one crappy. Before you had several faction co-processors with different bonuses and price tags. Now they all outsourced their co-processors production to the same foxconn factory. Before you had 4 named meta flux coils. They were the useless one, the useless one, the useless one and the useless one. Now they are still the useles one, the useless one, the useless one and the useless one, except they all have EQUAL resulting cap regen bonus and one of them has the best fitting.
All those choices
